HISTORY
GST made several early in-roads into package software. Its earliest was 1st Word and 1st Word Plus for the Atari ST, which became the dominant word processing software in the Atari market. GST revolutionised the DTP market in 1987 with a release of its advanced, yet easy to use and affordable Timeworks Publish-it. This was upgraded regularly and became the dominant budget desktop publishing program for DOS. In 1991 GST released Designworks in the UK; a Windows drawing and illustration product with the same hallmark as Timeworks Publish-it: Advanced technology, ease of use and affordable pricing.
In early 1994, GST rebranded its DTP software for Windows as Pressworks® and Designworks 2. These were superseded in July 1996 by upgrades to Pressworks® 2 and Designworks 3, with a wealth of increased depth and functionality, trouble free installation under Windows 95, along with high levels of ease of use based around OLE 2 technology. These were probably the best value for money desktop publishing and graphics products on the market. In early 1998, the greenstreet brand was launched, and Pressworks® and Designworks® were updated and released as greenstreet Publisher and greenstreet Draw. A whole range of associated products has now been added to the portfolio.
